THE TRIBUNE, JULY 18, 2012
Inspire Me is a unique place that offers you a truly special
experience. As you walk through the door your senses are
stimulated by the beautiful smell of melts and incense and
the sound of divine music. You may, if you're open to it, feel
the amazing energy of the crystals, and be drawn to particular
ones. It could be inspiration in the form of a book that brings you
through the door, or a gift for someone special. Whatever it is
that brings you here, we love the opportunity to help.
But what really makes the 'Inspire Me Experience' so special
is the fantastic range of Holistic Health services being offered
seven days a week. The wonderful people below share a
common vision of wanting to offer the people of the Manawatu
a variety of complimentary health modalities. They work on
a holistic level, addressing mind, body and spirit imbalance,
which may have resulted in dis-ease. You might like to call in
and find out a little more about one or more of them or call us

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Is anyone likely to wait at a
Palmerston North bus stop if they
don't know the schedule? The
official list shows -- in tiny
lettering -- bus departures from
Main St for each of the six routes.
Each has an average 26
departures with basic routes and
alternate routes lumped together.
Why can't the schedules be
simplified -- with alternatives
separated? And why can't each
bus stop have a horizontal tape
stuck to the post showing its
expected 13 daily times of arrival?
On weekdays our basic city bus
routes have 13 departure times
from Main St (as do the 13
alternative routes). Starting from
6.40am buses leave every 40
minutes until 8am (alternative
route schedules start 20 minutes
later), and after 9am bus
departures are one hour 20
minutes apart. This continues
until 4pm, when a 40-minute
service becomes available again
Are the administrators at
Horizons maintaining the current
confusing published list in order
to maintain the myth that we
have a reasonably frequent and
easy-to-use cross-city bus system?
The truth is that travel to most
destinations (other than those in
the central city) requires taking a
bus to Main St and then
connecting with another waiting
bus on another route.
This combination of journeys
often involves more than an hour
and frequently much more.
An additional complication
arises from the fact that from any
departure other than Main St it
can be incredibly difficult to find
out when the next bus will come,
or even to determine the side of
the road it will arrive on.
The current sorry state of our
bus service is undoubtedly a
blessing for our taxi services; it
must also be a factor in the
diminished foot traffic in the city.
The economics of providing bus
services is constantly raised when
we ask for a more useful service.
Surely anyone with basic
financial knowledge would know
that no service will succeed
without investment in a
We see numerous developments
introduced to facilitate motor
vehicle traffic. Should we not
instead be providing a bus service
which would reduce the need for
