Land Use Strategy
The Palmerston North City Council recently approved a
Draft Rural-Residential Land Use Strategy and we want
to hear your views on what we are proposing.
The purpose of the Draft Rural-Residential Land Use
Strategy is to provide information on future planning
for rural-residential development within our rural areas.
The Draft Strategy outlines the important development
principles for rural-residential subdivision and re nes
Council's planning approach for rural-residential land
subdivision. Feedback on the Draft Strategy and key
development principles will help nalise the Land Use
Strategy for rural-residential living for the next 10 years.
The Rural-Residential Land Use Strategy seeks to enable
rural-residential land subdivision and development in a
manner and at a threshold that does not compromise
the future productivity or sustainability of rural
communities and is economically sustainable for the
Council in its role as an infrastructure provider.
The Draft Rural-Residential Land Use Strategy is
available on the Palmerston North City Council website
www.pncc.govt.nz or can be viewed at Council Libraries
and Council Offices, The Square, Palmerston North.
Alternatively, a copy can be requested by phone: 356-
8199 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org Feedback closes on
Friday, 2 March, 2011.
